1.0 out of 5 stars Unfortunately Disappointed, June 22, 2011

Let me start with the positive. This is a very good looking guitar. It's got an attractive finish and looks to be a good value. Also it has a good sound when playing the G major chord.

Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. When playing the strings open, the top string buzzes incessantly on the second fret. Also, any attempt to depress the first fret on all the strings results in a buzzy version of the note that would otherwise be played on the second fret. A taller bridge may fix this, but I didn't buy this because I wanted to invest money in it. And I assume if you are buying it, you are just looking for something inexpensive to learn on.

I would consider any of the other numerous options on Amazon in this pricepoint. I'm very disappointed in my purchase, but I will continue to use it to learn chords and then find out what they are supposed to sound like on another more expensive guitar at a later time.

On a lesser note, the guitar bag, while... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Classical, February 8, 2012

I got this guitar to experiment with. The packaging was excessive and well protected. However the neck was slightly warped. It cannot be adjusted due to the absence of a truss rod. Low tension strings on classical's have no truss. I adjusted the the action with a shim and it stopped washing out. This is a decent starter guitar. It sounds great once you overcome the inadequacies. It has warm tones and can sound very raw to record with. I really like it now. Beware if you get a neck much worse then mine it will not function.Update: After a few days to breath this guitar sounds pretty good even though i had to shim the bridge slightly.

1.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for..., December 15, 2011

I was excited when I saw the pictures of this guitar and I saw a video also showing someone playing the guitar. I was excited when it was delivered, however, my excitement quelled after trying to play it. The sound was terrible.

To make a long story short I first tried to buy new strings for it since that was what a previous review said they did and it played wonderful for them. It did not for me. I took the guitar to the Music store and after looking at the neck they said it was irrepairable, that the neck was "...bowed..." and that the strings will never set right.

The guitar, after looking at it in person, was not that great looking. It seemed like it was made from cardboard.

But lesson learned: You Get What You Pay For. If something seems cheap it probably is. I shall never try to buy a guitar again from online here.
